Scottsdale, Ariz. – As part of its 50th-anniversary celebration, Shelby American unveiled its new 2015 Shelby GT Mustang today at the prestigious Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. WELD, the premium wheel supplier to Shelby American for select Shelby Mustang packages and Shelby Performance parts aftermarket sales, provided the company with a WELD Racing designed Shelby Venice wheel. These no-compromise forged, aircraft-grade alloy wheels for the 2015 Shelby GT are available in 20”x9.5”for the front and 20”x10.5”for the rear to compliment the vehicle’s Michelin tire package.
This new forged wheel is exclusively designed, engineered and developed by WELD to exceed Shelby’s industry leading performance requirements. Each wheel is manufactured in the United States to exacting standards.
As the company’s first Shelby GT designed for international markets, the vehicle boasts an impressive list of performance features including a Ford Racing 625+HP supercharger for both manual and automatic transmissions, and aFord Racing by Borla exhaust with Shelby oval tips. Exterior components for the 2015 Shelby GT were designed in-house at Shelby American using carbon fiber for all aerodynamic parts including the lightweight hood with functional air vents and a two-piece rear diffuser. The front grill was designed from a single piece of billet aluminum.
