Once again during drag racing events, the weather forecast wasn’t favorable. However, the racers still rolled into the Inaugural Comp Cams NMCA Memphis Homecoming, taking place May 2-5 at Memphis International Raceway in Tennessee to battle for valuable championship points and the Victor trophies, all awaiting them in the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle. The ensuing drag racing battles made thousands of spectators happy with their decision to come to the event, even in the face of potential bad weather. After all, rain won’t stop true fans and purebred racing drivers by any means.
Several races donned a set of WELD drag racing wheels, giving the competition a run for their money. Luckily, this time WELD had a dedicated photographer at the event, capturing the live action happening at the Memphis International Raceway. In a thrilling set of races, the fans got to see a slew of American muscle cars, competing in several racing classes. These consisted of the NMCA Mickey Thompson Street Outlaw, Holley EFI Factory Super Cars, ARP Nitrous Pro Street, Edelbrock Xtreme Street, FST Carburetors NA 10.5, Chevrolet Performance Stock presented by Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center, Coan Engineering Stock/Super Stock Combo, Quick Fuel Technology Nostalgia Super Stock, Detroit Truetrac Nostalgia Muscle Car, MagnaFuel Open Comp, ATI Performance Products Muscle Car Madness presented by Deuce Machining, Dodge // Mopar HEMI Shootout, Arrington Performance HEMI Quick 8 presented by Red Line Oil, and finally, the Gear Vendors True Street racing class series as well.
