WELD Racers Return to the 15th event of the 2022 NHRA Camping Series.

Face-melting nitromethane, ground-shaking Hemi engines, and WELD Delta-1 wheels spinning with the force of over 10,000 horsepower! You guessed it, WELD and our team of sponsored racers are back at it for the 15th race of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series. The event was hosted at Brainerd International Raceway, a track famous for its bountiful lakes, sprawling facilities, and a long-standing after-hours party that can only be described by racing fans as “the zoo”.

Headlining a slew of sponsored racers that brought home wins for WELD was Bob Tasca III who refused to cool down from an ongoing hot streak in his Ford Funny Car. Tasca and his crew have reveled in a successful summer with a win in the previous round at the Menards NHRA Nationals in Kansas City, as well as 1st place position at the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals. While most racers’ wits wear throughout the day Tasca put down clean passes all afternoon on Sunday, knocking out Dale Creasy Jr, Chad Green, and points leader Robert Hight. In the final round, Tasca would faceoff with fellow WELD sponsor Ron Capps in his Toyota-sponsored GR Supra Funny Car. Tasca laid down yet another 3-second pass, this time with an exact ET of 3.95 seconds at 329.42 MPH giving him the final win in his Ford Mustang Funny Car. In addition to being back-to-back with his win in Kansas City, the success is also Tasca’s first victory at the Brainerd International Raceway. With yet another Wally trophy in hand, Tasca has been bumped up to 4th place in the points standings and continues to improve his position as we head into the peak of our NHRA Camping World Racing season.

After an intense day of racing, Tasca credited his continued success to his team, “you know everyone wants to know how we are doing it. Go replay the starting line and watch my guys jumping up and down. They are the reason we are doing it! These drivers out here are only 5% of the equation… My team executed flawlessly. What a weekend… We are going to the zoo with the boys tonight”, Tasca exclaimed after his win. Cheers to Bob Tasca and his entire team!

In addition to Bob Tasca’s victory in the Top Fuel Funny Car Class on WELD Racing Delta-1 wheels, we celebrate the successes of all our contingency racing partners that brought home wins for WELD at the 15th race in the NHRA season.
